Hello World,
Welcome to my blog on mental health.
Bombshell for those who do not know: I plan to open up about my day to day struggles with anxiety and depression. I did an instagram poll a few days ago; I found that not only did a surprisingly large number of my followers suffer from either anxiety and/or depression, but they found the prospect of a blog useful. My aims with this blog are twofold:
1. To get people talking about mental health. It still has a stigma attached to it, which in all honesty, needs to be addressed. If we do not acknowledge this stigma and tackle it head on with an open discussion on a serious topic, the situation will not improve. The result will see individuals remaining isolated and could lead to more dreadful results in the form of self-harm and/or suicide. 2. To illustrate that mental health can affect absolutely anyone. There is no cliché individual that suffers from mental health issues.
I'll be posting about my day to day and what I feel works for me. I'm hoping in turn, that this will be able to help others come to terms with the demons that they have to face on a daily basis. If there's anything you want me to specifically post about, please do let me know via email and I'll take a look!
